Millwall players and fans support Save Lewisham Hospital

Hi All
Many, many thanks to the fifteen or so who braved the cold and persistent snow flurries yesterday at the New Den, Millwall. Now I know the true meaning of the “Cold Blow Lane End”!

The weather hit everything! Attendance was way down from that at Charlton last week and despite yards of damp plastic sheeting trying to keep the petition dry, the signature count was reduced to just over 300. But we gave out well over 3000 leaflets and the reception from fans was great. Thanks to the total support of the club, material on their website etc awareness is high and a good few said they intended to come to the demo. The T shirts and new badges were worn as promised by playing staff And stewards and we raised over £115 donations for the button badges.

We said we’d be there and we were!

WILL CONFIRM LEAFLETTING AT FRIDAY NIGHT’s CUP TIE WITH ASTON VILLA. WATCH THIS SPACE.

Mountsfield Park rally

At Mountsfield Park at the end of the demo will be:

  • bands
  • food
  • a few speeches
  • a Jeremy Hunt coconut shy (looking forward to that!)
  • street theatre
  • stalls

AND WE WANT YOU TO SIGN A 100 FOOT PETITION –  DON’T LEAVE THE PARK WITHOUT SIGNING IT!
