Two Lewisham Councillors, Mark Ingleby (Labour, Whitefoot Ward) and Kevin Bonavia (Labour, Blackheath Ward) are raising funds by running 5 km in the Tunnel 2 Towers race on Sunday, 21 July. Wearing campaign Save Lewisham A&E and Save Lewisham Hospital t shirts, Kevin and Mark will run the 5km T2T route from Southwark Park, through the Rotherhithe Tunnel to the finish in Canary Wharf.
Kevin says, “Apart from trying to help with fundraising for the campaign, we want to remind everyone, especially the Government, that the campaign to save Lewisham Hospital goes on undaunted. There is so much at stake here for all of us across Lewisham and elsewhere.”
Mark says, “All Lewisham Councillors are right behind the massive campaign to save our successful local hospital. I hope local residents can get behind Kevin and me to help us on our way!”
The run was introduced to support the work of the Fire Services and commemorate their work during the 9/11 and 7/7 disasters. All the Emergency services and several notable charities ran in the inaugural race in 201

The government are just closing hospitals A & E as they please, the consequence is, that people will die. But these multi rich MPs are not bothered , as they probably dont use the NHS,as they just nip down Harley Street, while we go down poor street, They are trying to do the same with my local hospital in Bolton, so we must stick together and stop these people destroying the NHS.
